Find a bench or sprawl on the grass – have a picnic, read, draw, write, or in my case, watch the world go by.

METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART

A friend gave me this tip – you can see all the masterpiece here for only a dollar! So, instead of buying an entrance ticket which costs around $25, tell them you are going to give a donation instead. I was a travelling artist and out of work, so a dollar will do 😉

Check out some Art in CHELSEA

It’s a wonderful neighborhood full of galleries. So if you love modern and contemporary art, this is the place to be, and you get to see it all for free.

It doesn’t exactly look like the real painting because i am no Matisse

I wake up early automatically. I paint. I walk in my ‘hood when i can. I eat when I’m hungry. I sleep when I’m tired. I write. I read. I think a lot. I have time. It can get lonely but most of the time I’m just happy. I do things that feels natural to me. No pressure. All willingly.

I like how the black created the shadows and added dimension to the tree

I’ve been having a lot of naps and deep sleeps lately. I’ve been dreaming a lot too. I’ve had dreams set in Greece, New York and even outer space. Dreamt of cooking rice and pasta in a space ship and food like moules frites that i miss. Quotations and text also appears in my reverie, with exact font and layout. {C’est possible! / Simply Intentional / Shit Happens} I call these my dream mantras.

I’m here but my subconscious is elsewhere.

One of my favorites! my version of Van Dongen

I’ve been watching a lot of films as well. Sometimes I instinctively study the layers of colors in the scene. “Ahh yellow first then green and black.” I would also try to translate the subtitles to my basic french. Well this usually happens when the scene is slow. It gives me time to think.

I am here but my mind is everywhere.

A few years ago, I made a shoutout to the universe. It heard me, so it must be done.

I am here now but i can’t wait to be there.

this looks like a neo-impressionist painting by Georges Seurat

I’ve been going on and on about this, since my first Japan blog entry… One of the main reason why I came here during spring time is to see the sakura and experience hanami. Scenes of people drinking and having their picnic under the cherryblossom trees kept playing in my head since i was a kid. I remember watching it on tv from a Japanese documentary.

Nirvana in GUNMA, Japan

Today, we’re heading to Onsen paradise – GUNMA.

Honestly, I’m not too keen to be naked in front of strangers in a natural hot spring, but Gunma is famous for that, so might as well try it, right? Right!

JK gunma onigiri

I woke up extra early and found Naomi and Satoshi in the kitchen preparing some oniguri for our roadtrip. I really wish to recreate this dish at home. It’s so simple and yummy to eat, everything in one bite! It’s also good to bring on the road as you don’t need utensils to consume it.
