I have this bizarre attraction to these maddeningly beautiful paintings
which I was lucky to see at the Louvre in Paris and the Tate Modern in London.
The painting of the young martyr by Paul Delaroche caught my eye the first time I visited the Louvre. Taking photos at that time was not allowed but that image was stuck in my mind forever. When I had another opportunity to revisit the musée, I tried to look for that eerie painting again. Good thing, visitors are now allowed to shoot (without flash bien sur).
I find big museums overwhelming so on my second visit, I just focused on pieces that caught my fancy.
I tried to amuse myself and looked at the artworks differently.
