It was my first time to watch a Musical abroad and I tell you it was a Wicked West End experience! Reminds me of my Metropolitan theater days. Ahhh those were the days… Our director used to tell us that as theater actors/actresses, we should always have that stage presence wherever we go. We must always have our presence felt when inside a room, a space, in a crowd…

The world is our stage :D BOW!!!

We were seated very near the stage but more on the side so we didn’t really have the wide perspective of the whole set, but it was nice to see the actors up close (with matching talsik-laway ;p) We enjoyed the second act more, maybe because we were able to transfer seats and got a better view of everything. The set and costume design were splendid, the cast gave a bloody mahvelous performance, I must say I enjoyed it immensely (sabay sip ng tea with the pinky ;p)

I wish I had more time to see another musical, I would’ve loved to see Billy Elliot… but the night is still young so off we went to another show, a different kind of performance, a lot more wicked this time ;p

the cast of FULL MONTY ;p

I wish I can post more photos mais c’est ne pas possible mes amis, I leave the rest to your imagination ;p It was my first time to see this kind of flesh parade,  the event was called Porn Idol!!!! hahahahaha :D  These blokes were just volunteers from the crowd in the club and each of them had to go full monty on stage. They have to win us over and the votes of the 3 judges (ala american idol ;p) bwahahahaha!!!! Kris promised a last night to remember and it surely was! No bollocks!

Traditional english breakfast - ALL FRY UP

In a way, this is similar to Philippines’  -silogs (short cut for SInangang and itLOG which means fried rice and egg), I mean having fried stuff for breakfast (fried tapa/fish, fried egg with fried rice), filling but very unhealthy, hehehe. This All fry up breakfast wasn’t really special but it was a good way to jumpstart our day ;p

Beatles fan or not, when in London you just have to cross the Abbey road!

and this is where I just went lady gaga!  hahahaha :D

Camden Market is gritty, wild and funky!

this photo made it to the LONDON SCHMAP TRAVEL GUIDE

I wanted to buy everything :D there were a lot of punk and gothic stuff, vintage clothings, food from around the world, and just about anything and everything else. Visual Overload :D LAVETT!!!

London weather is as infamous as it’s falling bridge ;p Weather here is always dull and grey but that didn’t stop us from doing the tourist rounds ;p Off to see Contemporary Art at Tate Modern!

Picture taking wasn’t allowed but I managed to take these shots inside the gallery. It’s cool that you can get inside the big museums here for free!!!! In Paris, it’s only free during the first Sunday of the month and the famous musees like the Louvre and Orsay would almost always have super long queues.

As usual, I went crazy inside the museum shop and got meself knick knacks for this collage that I’m working on.  Last night at the National Gallery’s museum shop, I couldn’t help myself and bought this very expensive pop-up book for A, well it’s actually for us, hehehe. It cost me like 15-20 pounds I think but I just found it too cute, couldn’t go home without it.

We even rode the old fashioned double decker bus with a conductor and the entrance at the back,Old school Classic! Friends said we were lucky because there are only very few left of its kind :D It was a nice scenic ride around London, of course us tourists headed straight to the top, hahaha :D There are double decker buses in Paris but only for sightseeing tours, here it’s a regular public transportation, Wicked!

Met up with a friend of a friend at Chinatown where we had the best duck in town

Zharina (the friend of a friend who works for Reuters London) recommended the duck but warned us about the bad service… The place was full, the server was scary and they prefer that customers eat and run. No long chitchats here, as soon as you’re done, they would serve you the bill. But despite that, the food was good :)

So happy tummies!

It’s just refreshing to finally eavesdrop and understand what people are talking about. It feels good to be able to communicate freely again (without thinking of the French translation). It’s also funny to hear people speak english with the british accent, feels like I’m in a movie and Hugh Grant will pop out of nowhere, hehehe.

London is not Paris but it has its charm.

Poor guard plays dedma as crazy tourists tries to make him react

the crazy tourist in me couldn’t help it, soweeee ;p

We just had to go to Notting Hill and Portabello Road…  It being a weekday, the place was a bit empty, which was totally fine with us :)

We didn’t bump into Hugh Grant but had my photo taken with other celebrities :D

So here is me jumping for joy with Kris at the Picadilly

25 Janvier 2010

My A was still sleeping when I left so I had to drag my heavy luggage by meself. There are no lifts and escalators on my line to Gare du Nord. I made it to the metro after 30-40 minutes of huffing and puffing with my luggage. I really don’t know why it’s so heavy ;p

And then our train had a technical problem, we were asked to move out and wait for another train. Each train that arrived, people were asked to get off and wait. The station was packed and people were getting annoyed. I was afraid that I won’t make it. I called up A to explain the situation, he suggested another route to go to Gare du Nord. He was worried and told me to move my butt quickly.  I huffed, I puffed and dragged my suitcase up and down the stairs. I MADE IT! but not without an interrogation….

Why are you going there? Where will you be staying? How did you meet this person? What’s the exact address of  the house? What do you do in Manila? What were you doing in Paris? How long are you staying?  Can you show me your return flight ticket?  Why is your luggage so heavy? Hehehehe, of course he didn’t ask me the last question.

Looked at my ticket and went to carriage 31 to search for my seat. Wait, there’s already somebody sitting on my seat! I showed her my ticket and it turned out that I was looking at my return ticket, aruruy masbate!!!!!! From carriage 31 I had to run back to carriage 3. It was a long way back and I was the last one to board. Arurukangkaruy!!!!!

A young englishman seated near the door helped me with my luggage and said “Welcome to London” (with an english accent!!!) FINALLY!!!!!! :D

SOHO

I arrived at St. Pancras station, bought an oyster ticket (underground pass for 1 week) and had my euros changed to pounds. My yakker friend JayO who arrived before me in London was there to welcome me :D We went back to another friend’s apartment to put my stuff and explored the city till the break of dawn ;p
